A Garden Security Guard is responsible for protecting gardens, parks, agricultural estates, nurseries, landscaped properties, and related facilities while helping maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, equipment, and property.

The position may involve monitoring entrances and exits, checking authorized access, observing visitors and vehicles, conducting routine patrols, protecting buildings, equipment, tools, plants, and other valuable property, and reporting unusual activities or security concerns to the responsible supervisor.

Security personnel may also monitor designated areas during day or night shifts, maintain basic visitor or incident records, assist with access control, respond appropriately to emergencies, and follow the security procedures established by the employer. Depending on the workplace, the guard may work around gardens, farms, nurseries, greenhouses, estates, storage areas, and outdoor facilities.

The work can involve extended periods of standing, walking, observing, and outdoor patrols. Guards may be required to work different shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, or public holidays, depending on the employer’s operational requirements.

Applicants should be responsible, alert, physically capable, trustworthy, punctual, and able to communicate clearly with supervisors, colleagues, visitors, and other authorized personnel. Previous experience in security, guarding, property protection, farm security, estate security, or related work may be an advantage.
